July 8: Travel to Toronto
The day started very early with a 6:30 breakfast, and a 7:15 departure for Holy Trinity Anglican Church just north of Toronto. Although we did not have specific directions to the church, we traveled on faith and arrived at the church at 9:00. Holy Trinity is a small church but a very charming one. The girls participated in the service of Morning Prayer, and sang four songs during the service. They did a beautiful job, and even received applause from the congregation during the service. After the service we were treated to lemonade on the lawn, and then pizza for lunch.
We boarded the busses and drove to Casa Loma, in Toronto. At Casa Loma, we were met by John Bejermi, who will be our local host until Wednesday when head back to the United States. Casa Loma is a castle-like mansion that was built in the early 1900's. We toured the house until 2:30 and then drove to the Royal Ontario Museum. The girls enjoyed the exhibits and gift shops until 4:30, when we left to go to the Hard Rock Cafe at the SkyDome. Everyone enjoyed the meal and the music, and many of the girls purchased t-shirts. We were also able to see the CN Tower, one of the tallest structures in North America. We then boarded the bus and drove to Kingston to spend the night. The girls are tired, but have been good sports, and good troopers. We are really glad to have comfortable beds and air conditioning for the night!
