The Parents Board Meeting will meet on Monday, April 10, 5:30 p.m.

From Our Director
A very special "Thank You!" to the girls (and parents) who travelled to Nashville on Friday to participate in the Tennessee Music Educators Conference presentation. The singers, serving as a demonstration group, were an integral part of the presentation: Teaching Critical Thinking Skills in a Choral Rehearsal.

I really appreciate the mothers, grandmothers, and friends who joined the Concert Choir at 11:30 a.m. Saturday to rehearse for the Mother-Daughter rehearsal. (You are really going to impress the audience!!) To assist you with rehearsing the pieces "Where e're you walk" and "Climb Ev'ry Mountain", Amy Campbell has made a MIDI music file that you may download. It is posted on the "Choir News" page of the web site. I will also send to you a copy of the lower harmony parts for the ending of "Climb Ev'ry Mountain."

Concert Choir: Please add to your calendar a fundraising performance for Sunday afternoon, April 23 at the Pastaria on Signal Mountain.

The Chattanooga Girls Choir will be presenting a concert Sunday, May 7, 3:00 p.m. at the St. Andrews Center. Call time is 2 p.m.--formal concert attire.

The Cantilena Choir will perform at Alexian Grove at Asbury Oak on Monday, May 1, after our regular rehearsal.

The Bella Voce Choir has been invited to participate in a Culture Fair at GPS on Tuesday, April 18. The event starts at 5:00 p.m., so the girls need to be there at 4:30 in order to warm up and get into place. The dress is khaki pants, red CGC polo, and white tennis shoes.

Volunteer Opportunities
We will be painting the choir office space this Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8. Volunteers are needed! We have two fairly good sized rooms to paint. We will furnish paint, rollers, brushes, and drop cloths. If you have roller frames, trays, and ladders please bring them. Be sure to stop by the tables tonight to sign up to help. We also need volunteers for:

  • Stage help for the spring concert
  • Help with risers for the spring concert
  • Help packing and moving boxes and office furniture for the office move.
  • Make phone calls for auditions

Save the date! The Tour Choir will sponsor a dinner at the Pastaria on Signal Mountain on Sunday, April 23. There will be two seating times--5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15. This includes dinner and entertainment.

In order for your daughter to continue attending rehearsals and taking part in performances, all tuition must be paid in full by April 15.
