CONCORDIA PERFORMANCE: On Saturday, April 26, Concordia Choir will perform at the John Calvin Apartments (behind Sears in the Northgate Mall area). It is easy to park in the Northgate parking lot and walk over to the apartments. Arrive at 3:30 p.m. Performance is at 4:00 p.m. and will last about 25 minutes. Wardrobe for this event is red CGC polo shirt, khaki pants, and white tennis shoes and socks.

CONCERT AND GRACE MOORE SCHOOL CONCERT TUESDAY: Concert and Grace Moore Singers will meet tomorrow at 8:45 a.m. for school concerts at Eastlake Academy and East Ridge Elementary School. Details are as follows:

These concerts help with our recruiting and are a great opportunity for the choir to be heard in our community. School excuses were available at rehearsal or the morning of the concerts from Mr. Wigal.

PLEASE NOTE: Outstanding balances MUST be paid NO LATER than Monday, May 5. Outstanding balances will preclude a girl from participating in the remaining concerts this semester. This includes the spring concert on May 9.

UPCOMING AUDITIONS: The choir is currently conducting auditions for the upcoming year. Everyone must audition each year. Don't wait until the last minute! Sign up for your audition today. You may sign up at the tables in the Fellowship Hall during rehearsal, or by calling the choir office at 266-9422.

VOLUNTEER HELP IS NEEDED: The office is in need of volunteers to make phone calls to schedule auditions. If you have an hour or so you could spend making phone calls in the office at the Maclellan Building, Suite 612 (next door to the Tivoli Theatre), please let us know.

Help is also needed during rehearsals. We need parents who can act as audition chaperones. Volunteer to spend an hour or two when you bring your daughter for her audition.

TICKET SALES: Because the spring concert will be held at First Baptist Church, no advance ticket sales will be conducted. All seats will be sold at the door the night of the concert for $10 each with general admission seating.

Any parent willing to assist with selling tickets, handing out programs, or chaperoning the choirs during dress rehearsal and performance should contact the choir office. (266-9422).

THE TENNESSEE MUSIC EDUCATION ASSOCIATION SPECIAL AWARDS RECIPIENT FOR 2003: The late Mary Ann Lowe (former director of the Cantilena Choir) was the first recipient of the Hall of Fame Award for the Tennessee Music Educators Association, presented in Nashville recently. TMEA sponsors an awards program to recognize individuals who have made major contributions toward the advancement of music education in the state of Tennessee. The Chattanooga Girls Choir is proud to be among the many organizations to have benefitted from the guidance and talent of Mary Ann Lowe.
